ConstructionWorks is a program funded by the Illinois Tollway designed to assist contractors with fulfilling their workforce needs by providing a pool of employment candidates that are interested in working in the heavy highway construction industry.

ConstructionWorks is open to all prime and subcontractors and offers two incentives for hiring and retaining ConstructionWorks employment candidates.

• First Incentive:  Cash Reimbursement
  For every hour worked by a hired ConstructionWorks candidate on an Illinois Tollway construction project, contractors receive a $15 cash reimbursement, with a maximum limit up to $100,000 depending on the contract.  
  
• Second Incentive:  Bid Credits
  Bid Credits are virtual dollars that contractors and subcontractors earn for every dollar paid to a hired ConstructionWorks candidate on either an Illinois Tollway construction project or any construction project in Illinois.
  

Bid Credits may be accumulated and submitted by participating contractors or subcontractors on bids for future Tollway construction contracts to lower the bid amount and increase the chances of winning the contract as the low bidder.
